Who Am I?

My name is Amanda but I am known as Miss Coffee. I was born and raised in a small city of Brazil and could not speak a word of English up to the age of 13.

It was at that young age that I decided I would lead an international life and speaking English became one of my priorities. That decision came after my first trip abroad, to the USA.

Being a dreamer, I started making hundreds of plans for my future without knowing that all of my dreams and many more (that I had not even dreamed of), would actually become true.

I have lived in London for 5 years where I fully graduated as a Primary School teacher and have achieved a Masters Degree Level in Education. I have travelled abroad for work and leisure numerous times to a wide range of countries including Japan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Israel, Switzerland, Norway, amongst many others. I have also spent 5 years in Russia working as a teacher at a British International School in Moscow.

Speaking English is one of my biggest passions in life and it brings me a great sense of pride – there is not a single day I go by without speaking English, especially now that I am teaching it to my son.

My skills go a bit beyond speaking English, though. I can also play the piano and I am pretty good at tap dancing – I have already worked as a tap dance teacher, can you believe it? Also, as my first graduation was in Physical Education, I also specialised in teaching swimming and survival skills to small children. Not to mention my role as a sports coach, Zumba Instructor, UK Primary School Teacher, and the list goes on…

I believe it is pretty clear by now that I absolutely love teaching, right? And teaching English online and connecting people from different nationalities is the apple of eyes. I feel that having English as my second language, puts me in a privileged position when it comes to passing my knowledge forward onto other learners of the language. I have felt the pain my student feel now and for that reason, I can tackled all the obstacles that come along the way with ease. Seeing them improving lesson after lesson makes me feel like I have the best job in the world!

I am the youngest and only daughter of a family of three children and yet, I was the only one who left my hometown to pursue my dreams around this big, wide world. I am crazy about my husband and son, and together with them I feel that there are many more dreams on the way… so the story of my life does not end here!
